Trustees and Friends of the Foundation, Saturday, May 18th at 8am the SVFEI will launch a Facebook auction. Auction items include reserved parking spaces at the high school; 1st, 2nd and 3rd row graduation seats; 50 yard line seats in the high school stadium for all home events for the 2013-14 season; family passes to all athletic events and a family pack of premium seats to the Saucon Valley High School Performing Arts play or musical. The auction will run through Thursday May 23 at 8PM. So watch for the postings and instructions! All proceeds benefit children in the Saucon Valley School District. On May 14, 2013, the Saucon Valley Board of School Directors approved the 2013-14 calendar change of moving the Teacher In-Service scheduled for October 7th to October 14th. Click on the title above to see the updated calendar.

Reminder: Keystone Exams, Algebra I, Biology and Literature, will be administered to those students in grades 9-10-11 whom had not taken the exam(s) in December 2012. Students in grade 7 and 8, enrolled in Algebra I, will be administered the Algebra I Keystone Exam. All exams will be administered online. The district has been notified that on May 7th Route 412/Main Street in Hellertown will be starting construction that will last at least one year. Kichline, Kiernan, Hess, and Roth Avenues will be closed at Main Street. NO traffic will be allowed to turn onto these roads from Main Street. All will need to follow the detour route posted.

A benefit for a Center Valley family will be held on May 17th to raise money for the family and awareness for Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley. The family has a 9 1/2 year old daughter who has been battling a brain tumor since she was 5 years old. After over 2 years in remission, the tumor has resurfaced and it is a Stage 4 tumor. There are new government regulations and rules that will impact our school lunch offerings. The regulations outline specifically what we can and cannot serve and portion sizes. This means that changes to what we do currently are under way to meet the new requirements. Below you will find a listing of the first changes that students will see. As of April 1, 2013, we will be offering new items on our hot ala carte bar: •Our daily offerings will be popcorn chicken, cheeseburgers, and hot and spicy chicken sandwich. •We will continue to have our pizza bar with cheese and a specialty pizza each day. •The salad bar will still be available. •Our cold bar will feature ham and cheese and turkey sandwiches daily.

On Tuesday, March 12, 2013, the Saucon Valley Board of School Directors set the graduation date for the Class of 2013. The graduation date is Friday, June 14, 2013.
